چکیده

UNLABELLED Dragon Promoter Mapper (DPM) is a tool to model promoter structure of co-regulated genes using methodology of Bayesian networks. DPM exploits an exhaustive set of motif features (such as motif, its strand, the order of motif occurrence and mutual distance between the adjacent motifs) and generates models from the target promoter sequences, which may be used to (1) detect regions in a genomic sequence which are similar to the target promoters or (2) to classify other promoters as similar or not to the target promoter group. DPM can also be used for modelling of enhancers and silencers. In silico screening of G-Quadruplex Structures in Wilms tumor 1 Gene Promoter

Introduction: X-ray diffraction studies have revealed that guanines in a DNA stands may be arranged in quartet and form a structure called G-quadruplexs. Bioinformatics studies suggested the formation of G-quadruplex structure in human crucial genes, including Wilms tumor 1 (WT1). The aim of this study was to in silico analysis of the guanine-rich sequence in the promoter region of the WT1 gene...

A Perspective on Promoter Ownership and Market Reaction to Corporate News: Evidence from India

C orporate governance structures in the wake of observed differences in firm ownership structures in developed markets and emerging market economies are distinct. In this paper, we examine the effect of an ownership structure of firms on the market reaction to corporate news flows in the context of emerging market economies like India. We observe the price and volume movements associ...

Computer model for recognition of functional transcription start sites in RNA polymerase II promoters of vertebrates.

This paper introduces a new computer system for recognition of functional transcription start sites (TSSs) in RNA polymerase II promoter regions of vertebrates. This system allows scanning complete vertebrate genomes for promoters with significantly reduced number of false positive predictions. It can be used in the context of gene finding through its recognition of the 5' end of genes. The imp...

Expression Pattern of the Synthetic Pathogen-Inducible Promoter (SynP-FF) in the Transgenic Canola in Response to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum

Sclerotinia sclerotiorum is a phytopathogenic fungus which causes serious yield losses in canola. A pathogen inducible-promoter can facilitate the production of Sclerotinia-resistant transgenic canola plants. Inthis study, the “gain of function approach” was adopted for the construction of a pathogen-inducible promoter. The synthetic promoter technique was used, which involved the in...

DRAGON: a member of the repulsive guidance molecule-related family of neuronal- and muscle-expressed membrane proteins is regulated by DRG11 and has neuronal adhesive properties.

DRG11, a transcription factor expressed in embryonic dorsal root ganglion (DRG) and dorsal horn neurons, has a role in the development of sensory circuits. We have used a genomic binding strategy to screen for the promoter region of genes regulated by DRG11. One gene with a promoter region binding to the DNA binding domain of DRG11 encodes a novel membrane-associated [glycosyl-phosphatidylinosi...
